You can change an orchard from one crop to another. This will slowly migrate the field after each tree dies and is replanted as the new crop. IIRC, walnut trees do not look much like apple trees.

Nope, and when I made the walnut orchard I hadn't even planted a single apple tree. The funny thing is I used to have a pear orchard in roughly the same area of soil.

Anyway, those damn trees seem to be producing nothing but walnuts now so I'm pleased. Thanks, I'm aware of that. In this case I had all the pear trees cut down first as I needed to change the size of the orchard.
