Hello,

I just bought about 20 chickens from a trader. However whenever I select the Pasture the tab were you select the Animals is greyed out.

What am I doing wrong? I already played though the tutorial again. To double check if I missed something.

Edit: Found out what I did wrong. I bought Chicken Meat instead of Chickens..................

I'm picturing your farmers dumping chicken wings, legs and carcass in a big pile in the middle of the henhouse, throwing some grain on top of it, and then waiting for eggs.

"- They don't eat much, ain't they?
- Ayup! The poor lil' things must be sick from the transport, is all.
- Shh, I think I saw one of them move!"

^^
Sorry for barging in, how does exactly one buy Chicken? I can't find chicken from the trader offers.

You'll need to wait for a livestock merchant to come by, from whom you'll be able to buy/order chickens. This could take several years of waiting.

Several years? Holy crap!
Trick I've learned. If you see a merchant coming down the river towards your trading post save your game before it gets there. Then if the merchant doesn't have what you want, reload your game. You might have to do this several times, but eventually they'll have what you want to buy.
Several years indeed. I think I'm about 17 years in and have yet to see livestock. Haven't even seen the option to order it.

I'll have to give this a try.
