backmechuisa: simple question.

Simple question, difficult to answer ;-)
It's normal that Steam gets updates before any platform offering a standalone version of a game, often because it's easier to issue a fix through Steam if anything goes wrong with an update and devs are often used to patch releases via Steam as they've often done beta-testing there. Beamdog of course got it already because they made the Enhanced Edition, but the good news is, Beamdog is offering the standalone version like GOG does, that means this version is ready for distribution too. Hence I'd say you'll see the update on GOG very soon.
I asked on the BG forums and one of the devs responded:

"We're sending them the update now; it should be available sometime today."

This was 18 hours ago.
What has been added with the enhanced edition and does anyone know if it will be compatible with bg1 and bg2 already combined?

They're separate games. BG1: EE and BG2: EE were basically released as remakes. BG1: EE was remade into BG2 engine and both games have a zooming option (instead of just setting specific graphics setting). There are also few new companions, each with their own quest in BG1, BG2 and ToB. There are also lot of new features like quick-loot option, new cutscenes, new portraits and standalone adventures Black Pits and Black Pits 2 (you create a party and then fight in arena). Both games are patched to versions 1.3 and are mostly bug-free now (as opposed to initial release which were full of nasty bugs.)
It's available now :)
FOUND IT - in the GOG library, under files it's listed there - downloading now.

WHERE / HOW do I tell that my game is patched? On the OPTIONS screen there is a version # -behind- the main graphic, making it unreadable. I don't know if I'm patched.

There's a weird thing going on with the patch filename. If I download it, GOG downloader tells me it's patch 1.3, the new version. However, the filename of the downloaded file is 'patch_baldurs_gate2_enhanced_edition_2.0.1.2'.
Is the mac version going to be patched as well?

That is GOG's stupid, illogical naming convention that is designed to suit their own purposes, rather than to make any sense to users. This naming issue with GOG files has to be the most hairbrained decision I've ever seen.

Hehe, this.

C'mon DubConqueror, you're here for years now! Never wondered why GOG is only offering version 2.x of all games? ;-)
I got a 1.3 patch for BGII:EE, but not for BG:EE. Wasn't there supposed to be a 1.3 patch for BG:EE as well?
Too bad the EE versions were not in the D&D bundles a little while back :( I just now have the originals from here modded up for 1 to run on 2. Just have to tweak the settings, the font is too big, hehe and the images too small.

BG:EE was patched to version 1.3 before it was released on GOG, so the main setup.exe should already be 1.3.

I know they're all in the 2.0.x.x format, I was thinking those last x.x was meaningful and related to the version number of the game. Apparently not (there's not many games I paid attention to the version, as most I play on GOG are old games and the version offered is the latest anyway).
