So I recently continued my playthrough from BG1 to BG2 and reached to the end of Irenicus' dungeon. I got to Khalid's body and the cutscene with Jaheira played and everything was fine. I was just wondering though, since she had low health and was almost dead, what would have happened had she died and not seen the body? Would the game bug out? Would you not be able to romance her?

Anyone ever not get that cutscene for any reason? What happens if you don't get it? I'm playing the original BG2 and not the enhanced version if that makes any difference.

you could try by killing her and having her raised at a temple afterwards

There's no reason it has to be in a temple; you can use a Rod of Resurrection or wait until your main character (you *did* make her a single class Cleric, right?) reaches 225k experience.

Interestingly enough, Jaheira herself can revive others at only 180k total experience, and she starts with more XP than the protagonist (assuming no TotSC or SoD import).

Edit: Or, of course, you could cheat (useful for testing things, not so useful if you want the game to remain challenging).

If Jaheira is dead by the time you get to Khalid you are doing something wrong. But to answer your question, it is not a quest related scene, nor is it essential, so in a vanilla game there is no consequence of missing it. However, if you have mods installed it is possible that missing it could break something. I say 'possible' because I'm not aware of any that break.

Thanks for the reply! I didn't there would be a consequence for missing it. Would she just know that Khalid is dead and continue as if the scene had played out? Or does she not mention Khalid again after the first dungeon (it's been a while since I played BG2 so I'm not sure if she mentions him).

She already has the ability to raise the dead when I started playing. I would try to cheat to test out these things but I really forgot how to set up the console for BG2. It's been a while since I played.

Jaheira is a potential love interest, so Khalid is written into the story as being killed: she knows, regardless of her situation in the dungeon.

Don't worry about it. dtgreene's inkling to just about any imaginable situation or question is "how can I cheat here?" You'll get used to it.
Thanks everyone for the answers :). I was just curious. I'm always kinda paranoid about bugs (no matter how minor) so I always imagine different ways a game can glitch. I'm glad to know that this what if situation won't cause any bugs or glitches in the game.
