Hello!

What do you think of EE's new stuff? Well...probably new only to me. It's been a while since I played the Enhanced Edition so I thought I'd fire it up and see what the latest patches added. I just started the game but so far so good I think. Looks like the graphics got some polish, the game is black/white when you pause, and there's a box up top that appears when you get a quest update.

Pretty small stuff but they're nice additions I think. When you zoom in the game doesn't look so great but it's still decent zoomed out. On top of that I don't think I'd be spending much time zoomed in, since the game requires the player to survey the area and decide what to do at all times. Probably would've saved them some grief if they had these things from the get-go.

If I found out they fixed the garbage dialogue and acting I'd *really* be impressed!

Edit: I forgot to add this game's version of Heart of Fury. What do you think of it? I'd try it myself but this is a new PC and I don't have any saved characters. It looks like starting fresh on that difficulty would be a bad idea.

The new characters are pretty annoying. I only keep them around long enough to do their quests for the new gear but after that I ditch them asap.

Neera: spoiled little kid. narcissistic. annoying voice. wild magic sucks. comes with gem bag
Dorn: illegal race/class combo. bland bloodthirsty dialogue. quests give nice bastard sword and elven chain.
Rasaad: poor stats. annoying voice. cliche quest. quest gives cursed belt of hill giant strength (str 19, int 6)
Baeloth: poor stats. annoying voice. comes with robe of evil archmagi and a ring that functions like Edwin's amulet

You kept Neera around long enough to do her quest? You must have a patience of a saint then. After hearing "Eat flaming...or possibly frosty......death" and the loud screeching noises that somewhat resemble a dialog for the umpteenth time, I planned on picking up Yeslick and ditching Neera in the cloakwood mine then flushing that bitch with the rest of the turds but my patience never held out. Not to mention wild magic totally blows.

Rasaad was a weak character and his quest was trite. I bitched about it in this thread here:

https://www.gog.com/forum/baldurs_gate_series/bg1ee_just_some_questions_regarding_rasaad

I never gave Dorn or the other guy a chance cos they were evil and "evil" in BG actually means "stupid and assholey".

In BG2:EE, I ignored Hexxat and Dorn, at least they weren't intrusive. Wished Rasaad good luck in fucking everything up with his former sun soul bros. As for Neera, I actually yelled "Oh, fuck off!!!!" at the screen when she showed up the second time. Then shouting "I don't care", while rapidly pressing the enter key to make her screeching noises stop.

I might give Rasaad a chance in BG2 for my next playthrough but not the other 3

I just gave Neera a ranged weapon and didn't let her memorize anything besides identify spells but yeah, her quest is pretty pointless and doesn't give any loot worth mentioning aside from a belt that give +3 on ppd saves.

Loosing 200K gold just because her wild magic did something stupid? No, thanks

It was the fireball centred on the entire party for the third time that annoyed me, ugh. Also with Rasaad being pretty weak, I honestly can't believe Beamdog thought charging $2 a piece for these characters was good value. Dunno what the other two are like but Neera and Rasaad certainly weren't worth it.

It sounds like it was great value. For them.
