I think it has been said, wow this thread is old, but ummm, yeah:

just focus fire on the mages as fast as possible, try to interupt buffing, buff yourself to all hell,

and reload until the rolls strike your favor (or not horribly in your dis-favor) sometimes isn't a bad idea!

turn down the difficulty
