I have all the mods/tweaks installed that are referenced in the essential mods sticky above, and although everything seems to be running fine now (had a problem w/ the 'fog of war' until I disabled vsync), I'm noticing that there are strange multi-colored pixels kind of in 'swirly' patterns (static) in the dialog box. They don't seem to interfere with any of the text, so they're more of an annoyance than anything. Has anyone else heard about this or have an idea of what I can do to correct it? Thanks for any and all help!

Can you provide a screenshot? There should be a barely noticable swirly texture of deep reds in the dialog box, but that's it.

If you're getting lots of different colors, then I'd imagine the program isn't displaying colors correctly. You may want to turn up or turn down your color resolution, try in a compatibility mode and/or turn off desktop composition and effects.
