Hello everyone!
So, for the first time ever, I didn't do this quest by going through the Copper Coronet and the sewers. I spoke to the guard outside and he got irritated enough to attack me. I went in and this is far and away a better method. When you enter via Copper Coronet, you're flanked at pretty much fight. If you enter from outside (the house boat) you take on the fights piece by piece and is much easier. I've noticed a few differences though. In the big room (the one with the captain) there weren't many guys there. Missing was a priest of Cyric, I think another caster, and a whole bunch of hired goons. Here are things I suspect that might contribute to this discrepancy:
- I haven't freed Hendak
- I came in through the other entrance
- I have a few mods
- bugs/glitches
Even if the missing thugs show up, cloudkill and fireball would take care of them. I think the captain's dialogue was a little different. The Copper Coronet method I remember him being furious. This time he asked me why I was killing his men and if I wanted slaves I'm going about it the wrong way.
