Hey, got BG1 and BG2, already decided I was going to use TuTu, and I was wondering if the Unfinished Business mods were a good choice for the first playthrough. Anyone know if it still feels like the regular game with UB?

Yes, I'd say it's a good choice. It's not a radical mod, and it feels like regular BG.

Thanks for the help, going to try it. BG2 just finished installing, so its modding time.
Yeah, it's a good idea to go for it. There was only one change off the top of my head that was controversial at all, and that was that some felt that Minsc's new character quest (in BG2) could be a bit unbalancing, but I didn't find that at all, and I think the majority would agree.

You could say wait until your second playthrough so you can appreciate the changes more, but to me that seems a bit like saying wait for your second playthrough to turn the graphics up so you'll appreciate them more.
I think you should install it right away. The content feels like it should have been in the game all along.
Today it would be sold as a $10 DLC.
The Tweaks mod actually might be worth considering for a first playthrough as well. There's a couple of convenience options (namely the larger stacks of ammunition) which are great, and it can silence the "You must gather your party..." guy, which I'm sure you'll end up taking sooner or later.

The big tweak I like though is two multi-class changes. The first is allowing Fighter/xs to achieve GM in weapon proficiency, the second is removing the weapon limitations of Cleric/xs. To me, the first one is HUGE and goes a long way towards making multi-class a viable alternative to dual-class. That makes Jaheira much more appealing, as well as guys like Montaron and Coran in BG1. The second tweak isn't as important but it makes classes like Cleric/Thief and Cleric/Mage less annoying, especially as the former can now use shortbows, and the latter can at the very least use darts.
