I've been enjoying a game of BG and am about halfway thru when upon double-clicking the shortcut to load the game I get a virus alert and a message saying that it has been deleted. And now my game of BG doesn't work!

How do I reload it (preferably keeping the old save files)?

You can backup the SAVE folder and then re-install the game. However, I would advise you to do a full computer scan before you do that.
