Title says it all already, but here the long version and my plea for help.
I installed Baldurs Gate: The Original Saga + Baldurs Gate 2 Complete
Then i installed Baldurs Gate Triology with its Fixpack to play it all in one go.

I started a game just fine and went till Nashkel.
Since the movie in the beginning of chapter 3 ends, everytime i try to rest,
no matter if in a tavern or outside, the game just instantly crashes/freezes and i have
to terminate the process with task manager.

I already re-installed everything a second time from scratch, played a second character till this point,
and the exact same problem has occured.

I did NOT have any problem with resting before the start of chapter 3 though. I have one save before chapter 3 and one in it to reproduce it clearly.

I am playing on Win8 64bit, Nvidea GTX 660, Asus PC.

What i already did:

- Adding "Disable Movies=1" to the baldur.ini under [Program Options]
- Empty the cache folder. (Well, there were no files in the first place)
- Empty the temp folder.
- Trying different compatibility modes for windows
- Starting as administrator
- Unchecking 3d-acceleration in the configuration
- Send all party-members away so only my PC stays.
- I didnt play the games before and dont know if there should play a special movie or scene ec. upon resting in chapter 3 that could be disabled?

Problem still persists.

This is all i could find on tipps on other forums ec. to fix similiar errors.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Some things need to be made clear: to play BGT you absolutely *must* install with a completely virgin copy of BG1, and that means *no* patches, fixes or tweaks. Nothing. Secondly, you never mentioned anything about mods. Do you have any installed?
Thanks for the reply!

I installed only
- bg2fixpack-v10 (was recommended somwhere)
- bp-bgt-worldmap-v101 (Without it, leaving the first area to open the worldmap would crash the game, with it the map worked fine)

-> into the BG2 folder.

I did a new install of Baldurs Gate directly before i applied the BGT thing. No mods have been added to the BG1 folder Have both games on "Install Updates: Automatically" though. Could this be a problem?

Install updates? BG is 18 years old. Are you running it through Galaxy? Is that what you mean?
Through the GOG Client, exactly. The changelog in it says that there have been multiple minor patches in 2015, but those have to do with Mac versions.
Hmm... maybe i solved it.
Norton Antivirus might have been the culprit.
Ran the installation again and had a warning for mosunpack.exe pop up and was automatically deleted,
which could have damaged the installation.
I restored the file and run the BGT installation AGAIN, this time without warning.

Then i imported my save-files. Now when i hit sleep i automatically enter a dream sequence, which must have been corrupted or missing.

Thanks for the replies though, i will come back if the problem comes back.

Happy Easter!
Thanks for the reply. Happy easter to you too.
