So I recently installed Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 on my Windows 8 laptop and have been trying to play through both with the BG2 mod. 99 times out of 100 when I get to a play screen after about half a second one of the menus will pop up. When I was trying to create a character, I was having the issue of the game thinking that I was pressing one key over and over again. The game works fine in GemRB, but when I open it in that it goes back to the original graphics and takes away the widescreen mod.

Has anyone had a similar problem? I've found very little about this online other than I might end up having this issue with all infinity engine games.

Try restarting your computer, and unplugging and reconnecting your keyboard.
