Hello, I have a simple question: will we be able to rollback to the 1.3 version of BG:EE and BG2:EE from the 2.0 patch? I know that steam allows it under the beta tab, but it is broken atm. I hope the GOG version will function properly.
This question / problem has been solved by pbnjoeimage
I'd like the answer to this question too. Some people enjoy Patch 2.0 and some people enjoy Patch 1.3 of the BGEE games. It would be great to have both versions available.
One must assume you are talking about in GOG Galaxy. I don't know the answer, but considering all but patch 2.0 has been removed from the download section, I would have to say "no".
I would really like to download the 1.3 version of this game. I hope this is possible!

I hope this is not the case. The 2.0 patch broke the game in many ways, and the rollback feature is supposed to enable the players to undo the mess. I will wait for some confirmation before making a purchase.
I asked support if there was a way I could get the installers/patchers for 1.3 a couple days ago and received the response that "that version is no longer available".

There is an option to rollback in Galaxy but it's not clear what it is. The options for rollback are 2.0.62.2 from 6 days ago (the current version) or "26566739" from "a year ago", whatever that is. I don't have time to test it out now to see what game version that is nor if it works at the moment unfortunately, but I guess that means that *something* can be rolled back to.

Edit:
Looking at my BGII:EE entry's config in Galaxy, which I downloaded and installed the 1.3 version of when it was available, currently states that there's an update available and has the second option for rollback already ticked, which is "26566974" from a year ago as well. I suppose this would mean that these odd numbers represent 1.3 for both games?

Well thats a relief. I assume that you can load your saves without crash (unlike the broken 1.3 beta on steam)?
I recently purchased BG:EE to satisfy my FR itch and heard about how 2.0 "broke" a lot of stuff. I don't have an option to DL anything but 2.0.62.2. Am I pretty much SOL?

Note I am not using GoG galaxy.

I don't have any BG2 saves at the moment, but since the 1.3 installer, which had been out for ages, matches up to the rollback choice (with the second rollback being ticked and whatnot) I'm confident that it will/would work fine, likely for either game. See the last paragraph for good news.

Without using Galaxy, yeah :\ you can undo the majority of the graphical changes that 2.0 brought (character outlining etc.) in the options menu but as for bugs, it's just a matter of waiting I suppose. In my 6-hourish experience the only one I noticed was the difficulty-lowering one though, and from what I've read it seems to only occur when you enter the options menu while playing.

Hey, I decided to take the time to roll back for you guys, and it turns out that the weird number version indeed BGI:EE 1.3.2053! My saves for the game load just fine. Hope that assuages your fears :)

Thanks for the confirmation mate. Now I can buy the EE without fears. (^o^)

This is not a solution. If the original 1.3 installer is no longer available at GOG, then it means that you can only rollback as long as the old version is still installed on your computer. I just rollbacked my BG2:EE and Galaxy downloaded 950 MB of data, which means that the 1.3 (26566974) files still exist in one form or another. But if GOG is unwilling to make them available in the form of an instlaler, it will put me in the very awkward future situation of having to search for unofficial sources (you know what I mean, wink, wink) of a game I've paid for and technically own.

Unfortunately I think it's the only sort of solution we're going to get, in that the question is answered. It's not great, but if you make a copy of all the game files and the registry keys (or just the game folder on Linux, once Galaxy exists on it), then it should work for the future. Also, what you said about only being able to roll back as long as the old version is on your computer doesn't make sense, since I purchased the EEs after the first game was updated to 2.0, and I rolled back just fine; Galaxy downloaded and replaced the necessary game files. If they stop allowing you to download that version, sure, then we can't get it any more, but you don't need to already have/have had it.
