Hello I am playing BG2 Complete from GOG and I cannot figure out why my companions will not talk to me. I get the message "Jaheira has nothing to say to you" as an example. This occurs for all party members. I played bg1 with easytutu and really enjoyed the player talks with party members. I read online where players are talking to their members in party in bg2 and was wondering what I need to get this to work? I appreciate any help that can assist me here
Generally, you cannot initiate conversation with your party members at will in the vanilla game. When you played BG1 TuTu you must have had the BG1NPCs mod installed. For BG2 you would need to install other mods, like banter packs, flirt packs or if you have other npc mods, the cross-mod banter pack. You can find them at the usual BG depositories.

Thank you for your answer, do you know if i install the flirt pack alone if that will allow me to talk to party members?

The flirt pack is for members who you can enter into a romance with. You would not, for example, be able to talk to Imoen, Keldorn, Mazzy, Valygar, Minsc, Nalia, Cernd, Yoshimo, Haer'Dalis, Jan, Edwin or Korgan. So you're pretty much restricted. There are other NPC mods that add this options, though, such as the Nalia romance mod, or the Imoen one. There are also 'friendship' mods that add extra banter, but usually not initiated by the player.

Thank you I have installed the flirt pack for my BG2 Complete version, it says it works with current save games and you do not have to start a new game. It says it works once you get past love talk 4 with Aerie and lovetalk 9 or so with Jaheira. I tried talking with Aerie and a dialogue box pops up but its completely blank which is confusing me. There arent any other mods it can be conflicting with so im wondering if flirt pack works with bg2 complete or if it need the ee game version

The flirt pack does not require the Enhanced edition. Just to be clear, Aerie's LT #4 in-game is actually enumerated as LT #8 in the mod code (variables). Make sure you are not mistaking LT4 as variable 4, which will mean Aerie won't flirt yet. Having said that, though, the dialog should not be completely blank. Do you have any other mods installed? If you do, please post the contents of your weidu.log here.

I appreciate your continued help with this Hickory. The only other mod I have installed is widescreen mod and Branwen mod. I have experimented with uninstalling both and just installing the flirt pack but i got same results of a blank dialogue box for Aerie. I have had a total of 6 love talks in game so far with Aerie so she should be eligible for the flirt pack to work talking with her. One odd thing i noticed was when looking at shadowkeeper i did not see a Jaheiralovetalk or Aerielovetalk line there was one for branwen and a number associated with it but none for jaheora or aerie. i did see the romanceactive line for both but no lovetalk line. Seems like the flirt pack is trying to work im just at a total loss why the dialogue box coming up blank. i registered on pocket plane group waiting for them approve my register hoping they may be able to shed some light here

I've never used the Branwen mod, so I can't advise you on whether there is a conflict there -- there may be. The love talk variables are 'Local' variables, not 'Global' variables, so you need to select Aerie in Shadowkeeper, then check in the 'Affects' tab -- that's where local variables are stored. You should also check that Aerie's (Global) 'RomanceActive' variable is set to 1 or 2, NOT 3. If it is 3, then she has dumped you, which could be the case if the Branwen mod monitors other romances. Like I said, though, I have no knowledge of the Branwen mod.

Yes i found the lovetalk varialbe under affects for Aerie it is 13. I am wondering now if maybe another mod such as fixpack, unfinished business or tweak pack may help with the blank dialogue if not pocket plane group gonna have to let me know whats up before i go crazy haha

If the flirt pack says LT 8 and hers is 13, then there is either a conflict or an incorrect/corrupt installation. If you had a clean install, then I would suspect a conflict.
