I see Baldur's Gate 1 and Baldur's Gate 2 complete editions are now on Impulse. Do GOG have no exclusive retail rights with any of these retro titles? Or is it the publishr's just let the games get lots of promotion because GOG have got them, and then get a better price at the other retailer's saying "look how much of a reaction there's been to our classic!"
Why would GOG get exclusives on old games? From a publisher/developer standpoint, it makes no sense. Since the games are old an past their time of high-impact revenue in the market, it only makes sense that they'd get them on as many services as possible, in order to reach a wider audience.
If anything, it's possible that GOG negotiated a timed exclusive with Atari-Hasbro, the same way Call of Duty map packs come out first on the Xbox 360. But really, does it matter? GOG has by far the better product, being DRM free and having all that bonus content.

Anyone who cares enough probably knows which version is better. Plus, I don't know anyone who uses Impluse.
Plus it's a good thing. It shows these companies that there is money to be made by making their old games available for sale. The better sales they see, the more likely they are to consider making other titles available.
