played baldurs gate 1& 2 at least 5 times. found a page that has "cheat" codes so i tryed to use them. just once to be able to go through the game to kick butt. i get the console up type in the cheat code and a line comes up "nice try cheater" can any body help me?

The command is not being recognised. What version of the game are you using, and have you enabled cheats in the configuration file?

Maybe your cheat is for the wrong game, or the wrong version of the game?

(Sometimes, Bioware would change the thing that goes before the colon when an expansion was released; that message appears if you try to use the old cheat with the newer version.)

It is recognized as an attempt to cheat otherwise it would not state that fact,look for other cheats and try them as the right version cheat is needed for your game.
