Stig79: I got the scripting in the classics to work fine in 5 minutes. What on earth did you do?

Or just include it in the lower difficulties, or better yet. Add a toggle for it in the settings.

Like a checkbox that says Dumb Player. Check it if you want the scripting to be on.

Anarchist_Peasant: Just turn the A.I. off I guess. I still can't figure out why you think Beamdog holds everyone in contempt. The very feature itself says the opposite. As someone who is coming in to the franchise fresh I guess i might be missing the negatives of these features. I certainly have them customized and turned on. But if they hurt the game, one can just turn them off. They've clearly assumed your intelligent enough to do that. Beamdog isn't releasing these games to torment people lol.
When SoD came out it got bad reviews because to the extremely poor writing, the myriad of bugs, the railroaded gameplay, the complete lack of roleplaying options, and so on. The CEO spins a narrative about everyone hating the game because of a trans character they had included. One of their other employees goes on to Twitter and is begging Feminist Frequency for "help" Since they are now under attack from GamerGate. People with valid complaints gets banned from their forums because "what you really mean is that you hate trans people". You can google this and find screenshots easily. You can also check the reviews on GoG and Steam and you will notice that very very few of them even mentions the trans character.

Basically the CEO and other employees labeled a huge part of the BG fans as transphobic gamergaters, to try and do distract from having made a poor game.

Yes you can turn the scripting off. In BG2, however, you don't have the time to do so before Imoen wastes a Stone-Skin spell on herself right after the opening cutscene is over.

No Beamdog are releasing these games to make money off a well loved franchise. They are basically a leech. Hence why they removed the classic versions from the stores (they were outselling the EE versions by a mile). They also removed the Soundtrack for PS:T from the Extras in order to sell it separately. When the classic version was being sold the soundtrack was included in the package - which cost 3 times less than the EE version, and about the same as Beamdog now are charging for the soundtrack alone.

All in all. Not a very cool company. Wouldn't you agree?
The things people choose to feel superior about will never cease to baffle me.

dtgreene: (By the way, is there any AI setting that will make the character constantly sing? Sometimes in IE games, that's all I want a character to do.)
Yes, there's. Customize script - Advanced AI - Sing Bard Song. This way your bard will prefer singing when she doesn't have another command from you.
