I want people who are commited to play a specific time of the week(preferably weekends) at a reasonable hour.

I think these games aren't really designed with multiplayer in mind. The problem is that there can only be one main character, and the game's plot revolves around her.

Icewind Dale is more suited to multiplayer, as it doesn't have the main character issue. (It also has less plot and dialogue to get in the way of actual gameplay.)
