i'd like to install the game on a thumb drive so i can use it on multiple computers. PC when I am at home and work computer when on the road.

I did not see that option when installing and copying the installed files to the drive did not work.

In the installer, press the options button in the lower left. You should be able to change the install path to your flash drive.
