I was playing vanilla BG 1 with no mods downloaded from GOG.com on a Windows 7 Starter netbook, so I have no CD's. A friend told me about some mod packs. So I downloaded and installed Baldurdash BG1FixPack11, DudleyFix Packs 1, 2, and 3, and BG1 Unfinished Business in that order. Afterwards, I tried to start a new game, but after importing my mage and finishing the character creation, the game asks for a disk. What do I need to do to rectify this issue?

I did NOT install any patches for this game, just those 3 mods. I did use the autoinstaller from Baldurdash and the BG1 Unfinished Business to install the mods.

Ok, issue solved. For those that might find themselves in my position, I will describe what I did to fix the issue.

1. Backed up my characters (which proved to be unnecessary, but is still a good idea)
2. I uninstalled BG allowing the uninstaller to delete everything including saved games.
3. I reinstalled BG.
4. I tested the game to see if it would ask for a CD after importing my character (to see if I needed to use my character backup).
5. I installed Baldurdash.
6. I tested BG, and found out that it still worked.
7. I installed BG1 Unfinished Business.
8. Tested the game again and found it still worked.
9. I installed DudleyFixes in numerical order.
10. I then tested the game and it still worked.
11. I then deleted the areaxxxxx.bif files like dudleyfixes suggested
12. Tested the game again, this time it asked for the game CD's

So after extensive troubleshooting, I found that the issue was the deletion of the area files. To those people who want to install DudleyFixes, I highly suggest not to delete those files like they suggest unless you have the CD's. Now that I think about it, that should have been common sense, but I happened to overlooked that possibility when I posted the first time. Hopefully, this thread helps someone out.

On a side note, I don't know how to mark this thread as solved. I'm gonna do a little research on that, but if I can't find anything I'll leave it as is.

I'm surprised you even found Idobek's (?) fixpack. Anyway, for the brief period I used a non-Tutu BG1, I used only Baldurdash. Was fine.
