Hi all,

I had never played BG before, but I'm now making my way through BGEE, and once done I was thinking of importing my final save to SoD. Then, importing my final SoD save to BG2EE.

Is this all feasible and straightforward?
What are the mechanics, potential pitfalls...?

Any help appreciated, cheers.

First, you can do everything you say easily. There are 2 ways. You can directly import a saved game or you can export your character at any point and then import later.

However...

BG series has experience caps, NOT level caps.

I do not advise you to import your SOD into BG2EE, since the game will be highly unbalanced. Normally BG1 has an exp cap of 90K (161K with the expansion) and you are expected to start BG2 at that point. However, the exp cap for SOD is 500K. And with the items you'll find, you will be overpowered for BG2.

Of course, you can do that but my personal advice would be to use your character from BGEE when you start BG2EE

thanks for this explanation. I'll have to think about it.

Mostly I was worried of strange happenings such as losing items in the process.
Apparently the Golden Pantaloons are meant to be carried over, but, with SoD in between, I thought the process could get messed up
