The combat did feel a bit boring. I'd be hard pressed to find an rpg that had perfect combat, though. Ultima 7 is one of my favorite games ever, but the combat in that one does suck. Just an example.
I look forward to play the game, but it won't run in the ancient piece of junk I have for a computer. Same goes for Tyranny and Torment: Tides of Numenera. :(

If you bought your PC in the past 10 or so years you can probably run it. It's not a demanding game by any definition. Head over to Youtube (doesn't necessarily have to be this site, just a suggestion) and type in your specs and the name of the game. There are channels dedicated to showing how games run on certain hardware. You can also go to a forum and type your specs. Someone will be able to tell you if the game should run. You can also just Google your specs and the game, you'll often find someone with similar tech asking if he or she can run it.

Sadly, I don't meet the minimum requirements, only 2GB RAM, worse processor than required, and I understand the game has issues with 32-bit OS (which is not supported), so, even if it runs, it may be a frustrating experience. I guess it's better to wait for better times.

Mine is getting old too. Might be why I keep playing GoG games :)

Gotta love GOG, so glad there's no shortage of awesome games from the good old days. :)

How many of them have you beaten?

Old games, I really can't say, it would be impossible to remember them all, starting from the Commodore 64 days back in the 80's. :)

GOG games, not that many, less than a dozen, I think, mostly small games. A few adventure games that I knew well from the old days (the Kyrandia series), no challenge there but still fun. A few more recent adventure games which I had not played before, Another World and BG1EE with the SoD expansion. The game I beat most recently was Thimbleweed Park, which was kindly donated by a generous GOG user. That's what I've completed since I joined GOG in late October.

I also played Alpha Centaury, got my ass kicked a couple of times (I wasn't any better back in the day) and put it aside to play other things, lol. Played a few campaign scenarios from Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, but got bored before completing them all. And played for a while Warlords Battlecry 1, I'll return to it eventually to complete the campaign.

I just bought a joystick to USB adapter, actually. Now I can use a proper C64 joystick while playing c64 games via emulator.

I am rather actively trying to beat at least one GoG game a month now. I have bought so many I feel like I should actually play them as well. Finished Ultima 6 2 weeks ago.

Cool, I'd love to get one of those joysticks and USB adapter, I play the C64 games with the keyboard and it's just not the same.

One game a month sounds like a reasonable goal. :)
the stats matter a lot more than they should but you can redesign your character at any inn (for game $) so its not that bad... custom characters, solo or group play and some very hard battles make it worth playing imo.

my priest, thief and Paladin had finished the game.
