So I've been relearning that there are a LOT of companions in Baldur's Gate.

I met up with Minsc and I'd rather have a fun Ranger in my party than a Bard, so I reformed and had Garrick leave.

When I switched him with Kagain temporarily, he took it in stride and talked about working on something in the meantime, but now he throws a fit and says "You're no better than Ms. Silke! It will catch up with you, someday, mark my words." then storms off. That seems like an odd thing to say when I have a Reputation of 19 and am Neutral Good.

What caused this? Now that he left, can I find him again somewhere?

I probably won't end up making use of him, but I'd rather at least have the option.

(To clarify for this thread, my primary question is "Now that he left, can I find him again somewhere?" and can I get him to rejoin?)

Not Garrick, no.
Fascinating! That's an oddly harsh penalty for a companion who's neutral and not evil.

I had only JUST increased my reputation from 17 to 19, so I had another save and tested it.

CONFIRMED: This problem does not occur at reputation 17 or 18!

Thanks!

On a side note, I find it amazing how quick people devolved into spreading misinformation about mods before someone set them straight. (and it was Burns AGAIN talking about mods! What common subject, haha.)

EDIT: I'm actually a little embarassed that the answer was something so incredibly recent and I didn't spot it. I did searches outside of gog on the subject, but specifically about Garrick and couldn't find anything so it didn't occur to me it might have been a generalized issue with Neutral companions.
