I knew in BG2 he had 2 points in Short Sword, more than legally allowed. But just now I started a ToB game just to test some equipment/spell stuff and he has two in Long Swords too! LOL. If only it allowed us distribute his proficiencies like he does...
I thought Blades could put two points into melee weapons, but I just checked in Tutu and it won't let me, so I guess not.... You could always use Shadowkeeper, though.
With Haer'dalis I might consider it, seeing as he does it himself, but not a normal Blade. I was playing around with him, seeing how Tenser's, Improved Haste and the right equipment can make him super hardcore. I put Scarlet Ninja-To and Belm on him, so he'd have similar attacks per round to fighters. What do most people end up giving him weapon wise?

According to this thread he was given the extra points to represent the abilities he would normally get as a Doomguard.
Correct me if this is wrong, but they are saying that Doomgaurds automatically have no penalties with bladed weapons, so that having actually trained in short swords and long swords on top of that bonus yields a second point?

And that I would therefore be justified in using Shadow Keeper to allocate any future proficiency points to a bladed weapon in so much as it does not exceed "Specialized"?

Also, anyone care to weigh in on my prior question pertaining to how people typically equip Haer'dalis weapon wise?
Well, if he can get two points in both short and long swords, you could always use the Answerer and the Short Sword of Mask, in ToB at least.
