Greetings once again,

I've hit a snag which forced me to consult a guide, but the solution doesn't seem to work for me or I've missed a step. According to Dan Simpson's guide, I have to whack the training dummies in the NW room to make Durlag appear which will advance me further. I'm assuming the training dummies are the red, yellow and blue statues you can loot. I've tried using my sword on them to no avail.

Everything in the guide matches up to what I have done except this particular spot. Any advice?

P.S This should be (hopefully) my last inquiry about BG until I start BG2. That might be awhile as I've a sealed copy of Fallout 4 on the table eyeing me.

Did you notice the colours of the dummies? Did you also notice the colours of the rune stones? Also, don't overlook that you can actually loot the dummies: yes, they're containers too.

Ahh, mayhaps I should have identified those things. I saw the colours but was still clueless. Thanks for hint friend.

Ok so I'm still stuck at these statues. I've identified the 3 new runes I found and understand it's the middle one (red) I have to hit, but um...how do I hit it or activate the thing? Nothing seems to work. I must not know the right command. Thanks again!

You have to force attack it. You can use the F3 key, or click on the sword icon at the bottom of your screen.

I feel ashamed to say that after clicking my sword, i wasn't clicking the circle at the base of the statue but instead was clicking on the middle. Even though the sword icon appears, it won't actually work. Boy I feel silly lol.
