Ran a search for answers, didn't come across anything that worked.

Picked up the pair the other day (regrettably having to pay Beamdog in the process, but oh well)

Followed the GOG mod guide (to the letter).

Shut down the PC for the weekend since I was out of town.

When I got back, I attempted to pick up where I left off (not far. just about to head into the first town after you pick up Jaheira and etc) and any attempt to load the game results in CTD.

Any attempt at starting a new game results in CTD.

Help?

(already tried the deleting bmp thing)

That is not "the" GOG guide, it is just one person's preference/view that has been stickied. It also brings with it a high risk of introducing errors. Since you are still at the start, I suggest starting from scratch and install ONLY BGT. Note that you MUST install BGT with a virgin clean installation of BG1.

Did you have only 1 save game? As a rule always make a save when entering new towns or regions and make an other save regularly. So you can go to an other save game if one of them gets corrupted.

Engerek01: Did you have only 1 save game? As a rule always make a save when entering new towns or regions and make an other save regularly. So you can go to an other save game if one of them gets corrupted.
Had 4. They all crapped the bed. Will try the stuff mentioned above.
