I am in the initial part of BG2 and still in Irenicus' dungeon. I am using Imoen to find and clear traps and in the very early stages all was well.

I am now in the Wand Room and Imoen detects traps OK. When I select the mask (thieving) and move the cursor over the detected trap, the trap goes from red to green and the cursor from a mask to a bear trap. So far so good, I think.

However, when I click the red trap, I get the immediate message that the trap was not disarmed and the trap changes colour from green to red! I tried this several times with the same result.

What can I do about this and/or what am I doing wrong?

This very frustrating and any help would be really appreciated!

Cheers

if i remember correctly, the wand room traps are disarmed when you "unlock" each column with the keys.

i usually will temporarily disable the AI and give all the keys to my lead character, send her, alone up that side of the room.

i hope this helps! let me know of your progress? this is one of my all-time favorite games! :-)

Thanks, that was a great help. It still left one trap that would not clear although I had all the wands (I think!). but I am now through and on with the game.

Yes, BG1,2 are a baseline; for me Pillars of Eternity provides a very good follow through, though!
