Hey all,

Cinematics are stuttering like crazy for me in BGEE. Opening cinematic, rest cinematics, inn cinematics, they all stutter like crazy.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm on Windows 7.

On my laptop if I have the Alternate Renderer enabled, this movie stutter happens, and the game runs at about half the framerate. That's the only thing I can think of: disable Alternate Renderer (DirectX) if you have it enabled.

in the config file, baldur.lua, it's this line:
SetPrivateProfileString('Graphics','Backend','0')

Setting that to 1 enables the Alternate Renderer, which I can't play the game with.

You can find the alternate renderer in the game options as well. Try it out.
its the last option under graphics

p.s, you need to restart the game engine before this takes effect

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I disabled it, then restarted the game, but the cinematics stutter just like before. Any idea what could be doing this?
are you running it from the c drive?

Yes, running from my c drive, not off an external drive or anything like that. Cinematics are almost unwatchable in their current state :(
The other thing you can do is check your systems power options. Setting your power plan to 'High Performance' should fix the problem.

If you don't know how this is done, please follow this guide: www.makeuseof.com/tag/windows-7-power-options-sleep-modes-explained/

I hope this helps fix your issue. :)
I have the same problem with original saga. Cinematics have worked fine only the first time then they have begun to stutter very hard.
I'm on win 7 x64, i've installed only one mod (unfinished business). My specs: cpu q9300, gpu gtx 460, ram 4 gb.
Any advice?
Here's a little update which maybe can help someone more expert than me to understand the problem.
If i play a new game or load a savegame, every cinematic works fine from the movies menu in game. Stuttering seems to be only when i launch the game the first time and if i don't play.
