Hello!

If the leader of the party dies (but isn't perma-killed), do I still get his charisma bonus when interacting with NPCs?

Thank you for replying.
No. The party leader (Charisma) contributes to other things like moral of the rest of the team, so using the charisma of a dead leader would be kind of stupid, no?
Thanks for the answer. Yeah, it would be kind of silly if that happened. I was confused because sometimes games trade realism for mechanics. Like when an NPC talks to a party member, the party member engaged in dialogue gets the charisma bonus of the leader, regardless of that member's charisma score.

If I, a lesser-known friend of mother Theresa, show up with her body, I bet I'd get at least some of her charisma bonus. :)

Or be lynched. :)

Back in medieval times it would certainly give you some clout. The body parts of saints were considered valuable relics.

Your party is not a group of religious devouts, and I don't care how superstitious you are, having to lug a dead body around while trying to stay alive is *not* good for morale, quite the contrary.

Personally, I would prefer it if this game did more such trades. Specifically, there are many annoyances that result from favoring realism over playability; two that I can think of are the "must gather your party before venturing forth" rule and the rule against trading between characters who are far apart. (I also wish that dead characters wouldn't drop their equipment when they die; as is, when somebody dies and is revived, you have to do some annoying inventory management to get the character's inventory back to what it was before, and what if you don't remember?)

Great. Now I'm stuck with the mental image of some dwarf fighter holding a dead priest in one hand and a warhammer in the other, charging into combat shouting "BY THE POWER OF THE SAINT I SMITE YOU!"

Why would you haul around a body like that? Its terribly inefficient. If you hack off the head and limbs and strap remnants to your body, the torso will become a protective barrier. You can also use a limb in lieu of a weapon in case you lose the weapon you have already XD
D&D being what it is, I'm confident that some tabletop group somewhere has tried to pull a Weekend at Bernie's with their paladin.

We've already got Skin of the Ghoul, though having a Neb's Head Helmet and Wirt's Leg as your weapon would be a little bit new. ;)
