I've killed Davaeorn, entered chapter 5. Went through famland north of Friendly Arm, crossed bridge, met and spoke to Scar. After crossing the bridge I am forced by the road to go North and East and when I leave the area, the City of Baldurs Gate is not highlighted and I can't go there. I can go north to AR0400 but again, I can't go west to Baldurs Gate, only to the area east which leads me towards Durlag's Tower, not where I want to go. Do I have to complete the Tower first? I'm using the GOG download which incorporates Tales of the Sword Coast.

Something doesn't make sense. First off, no, you don't have to go to Durlag's Tower first. It's at the complete opposite side of the map than is Baldur's Gate.

If you've killed Davaeorn and drowned the mine, just keep crossing the bridge with Scar (Wyrm's Crossing) west into Baldur's Gate. When you get to the west end of the bridge, you enter the town by turning and heading southwest. Head due southwest from Quayle.

Just to add to that, the actual entrance to Baldur's Gate is a little tricky to see. Once you cross the bridge heading west, head southward like strixo said. You have to go through the wall (its actually the entrance but you just can't see it from the angle) and you then can enter the city itself

I ve got enhanced edition...

I've killed Davaeorn, read all the letters which dropped from him, let his apprentice alive and flooded the mine. Then got out of there to carry on to Baldur's Gate as it's written in the Fifth chapter. Unfortunately i can't even reach the bridge nor BG. Is it caused by quests from previous chapters i haven't done?( I still have some). This is what i ve written in my Journal: ,, I have flooded the Cloakwood mine, rendering it useless. It seems that it is time to the nearby city of Baldur's Gate. I must investigate the Iron Throne and discover their intesions''. I really don't know what's wrong, that i haven't highlightened even the Bridge before BG. Btw. i ve decimated all the bandit camp.

When Davaeorn died (or you left that level afterward for non-Tales games), did you get a chapter update movie/narration? If not, then the game did not update the chapter global and the bridge to Baldur's Gate won't be lowered when you get there.

And to highlight the bridge area you have to leave the farm area north of the Friendly Arm by the upper right of the map. Then you can enter it, find out if the bridge is down or not, and (if it is) enter the Gate.
