this bug is caused by the new tracking scripts that Larian assumed would fix another bug

image 1= so before the patch the guy would go down the hole and you had to go down to loot him but this bug removes his body from the game

image 2 = reload the area fixes this bug and put the body back in the game world so you can loot it

image 3 = there he is

the good news = patch 4 fixes this bug
the bad news = Larian caused a new bug by the way they fixed it

if you save your game next to the hole you can't move on load... work around = jump, teleport or fly to new location
