hi, now that baldurs gate is on gog and hopefully baldurs gate 2 will come too (i have both, but in german, german version is not as good because they made it "funny", and many mods are in english, and it breaks the mood if some things are german, some english), i try to get the perfect mod combination for the big world setup

here the link if you dont know what it is:
http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/cebua/step_by_step_moddingguide_turn_baldurs_gate_and

so what do i define as the "perfect" setup?
1. as bugfree as possible
2. nothing that breaks the mood of the game, seems unfinished, or doesnt fit otherwise
3. with always making the first two points the highest priority: as much content as there is that is consistent with the rest of the game and without bugs - quantity is good, but quality is always the highest priority

so of course every mod that fixes things is welcome. every mod that adds NPCs, quests, items, or whatever - as long as a new player wouldnt notice at first sight that there is something modded - is welcome.

what about mods that make the game harder? let it me put this way: if monsters dont just get hitpoints like mad, but it adds to the gameplay by making the AI better and the fights more interesting (still balanced), i think that would belong to the perfect mod list i try to make.

does anybody have a list that comes close to what i try to do or wants to make suggestions?

I'm also extremely interested in knowing more.

I stick to fixpack and NPC pack from here:

http://gibberlings3.net/downloads/#bg1tweaks
I play BG 1 and 2 with:
Baldur's Gate Trilogy

Tweakpack for BGT, should be found somewhere under the download link

NPC project for Baldur's Gate 1 in BGT: Adds banters, romances, and all is well written and in-character. Great MOD, made me care about my party
Banter pack for BG 2
- Adds... Well, banters

And that's pretty much it, really. I want to avoid installing more MODs than I need to.

Oh also, you can easily download english langpacks. If you wish, I'll link you to them

@Elvin
What exactly do you mean with NPC pack?

Would be nice, but i dont think wi will use it, as i assume it will not change the voices.
But linking it anyway will nut hurt. :)

There it is. And most of the dialogue isn't realy dubbed anyhow, so it would just make the game more consistent
I'm REALLY interested in this topic!! :)

I have a question: what's the difference between "BG Trilogy" and "BG Tutu"? They both seem to serve the same purpose, so which one should i choice?
I've heard a lot more speaking about Tutu, so i asked ;)
I think BGT and Tutu accomplish the same task of getting BG 1 to use the BG 2 engine. However, I believe BGT allows you to move almost seamlessly from the end of BG1 to BG2, whereas Tutu requires a character import into BG2.

I use BGT-WeiDU along with (and in this order):
BG2 Fixpack
BG2 Tweaks
Widescreen mod

They're available from http://www.gibberlings3.net/

I believe you can have the best vanilla BG experience with just the above mods. If you're a newcomer I'd definitely suggest vanilla before expanding to user-made content such as The Darkest Day.
Can you travel back and forth between the BG1, BG2 and ToB areas in BGT?
EDIT: nvm, this was a bit off topic. Posted as a separate question now.

I played BG2 and ToB to death, but never tried BG1 (it was almost impossible to find in Italy!!), so i'd sure like to play a nicely modded BG2, while i'm not sure about what to do with BG1 :)
