I've been tearing my hair out all night since suddenly, none of the other fixes would help.
If you've got a disappearing and/or glitchy cursor in BG1, and neither ie_ddrawfix nor disabling DirectDraw hardware acceleration via the DirectX Control Panel, nor fixing bgmain2.exe via Compatibility Administrator seem to change a thing: Placing the latest version of narzoul's ddraw.dll in my BG1 install folder made the game run perfectly, no other fixes installed. I can't post links, just google for DDrawCompat and you should find it.

Option 2 in ie_ddrawfix also worked, but then the game would take ages to load. With the dll, the game launches instantly as usual.
The problem I just find out after almost 1 year is: MOUSE TRAILS enabled on control panel.

So I create a PowerShell script which can disable or enable the trails and changed the link to run a batch file which first disable the mouse trails and then run the baldurs.exe waits and when finish re enable the mouse trails.

You can download the scripts from GBATEMP gbatemp [dot] net /download/gog-baldurs-gate-full-screen-no-mouse-cursor-fix.38812/
