When I played this game when it came out I remember using a lot of potions but not getting beat ALL the time. I have started a warrior character with 18 strength and 18 constitution but all battles so far (I am at the pub in tyhe slums) have been very difficult and needed LOTS of health potions. I then went to the cemetary and gave up.

So - where next should I have gone after arriving at the inn? Plus has the game got harder in the enhanced edition. I had no trouble finishing the game and the expansions before but now is just too hard.

Describe your party and the equipment that each member has. What spell tactics do you use? You'll get a lot more help if you give more details, I'd assume.

When you say "18 strength", is that a straight 18 or 18/xx of some variety? It can really help early on to get a boost to THAC0 and damage by making sure you have the 18+ score. May be too late now, but just wondering.

Interesting that you went to the cemetary to give up. Might be easier on the undertaker that way. :)

As DCC74 says, however, the makeup of the party and the items you have will play a big role in whether you'd succeed. Also, if it's been a while (more than a decade?) since you played, perhaps you may have forgotten some of the (rather complicated) gameplay mechanics?

I thought that was a grave mistake too. I certainly couldn't dig it.
