I am trying to use Yoshimo for thieving without much success. OK, he only has very low stats but I have bumped him up with four potions of Master Thieving (to 185).

So I go to Arledrian and try to get what I want - select item, click thieve; but nothing happens. I get no message on success or failure of the attempted theft and nothing appears in the inventory of any character. I also tried the containers in the room but nothing appeared there either.

Can anyone point me to what I am doing wrong, please?

You need at least 224 points to be successful in stealing or to pickpocket from Arledrian and some other high level thieves. There is still a tiny % chance to fail at it but should more likely succeed than fail.

Red face time for me, sorry; I was doing the stealing the wrong way! Once I selected 'Steal' and highlighted an item all went as expected.
