I purchased BG1 and BG2 from GoG. BG1 runs fine and right-clicking to bring up item details or a character's item display also works.

In BG2 there is no right-click functionality. This is before any mods, only the base install.

Is there a way to restore right-click or to setup a hot key to do the same job?

If you’re launching the game through Galaxy, try to disable the overlay for the game or launch it without Galaxy.
