Weird question to avoid buying BGEE twice (even oh so cheap as it is now). Does Siege of Dragonspear from GOG work with the DRM-free physical editions released by Deep Silver/Ravenscourt in Europe?
Nope. You need to buy it again.
Damn, I bought BG1 and 2 originals in 2015, because of the lower price and BG2EE is until today with no german voice overs.

But the todays price seems really low. And maybe I will buy it now for the new addon. But I must say I never played BG yet, only shortly the BG2 demo. So I shall play BG1 first until I get the addon. But the question now is, shall I let pass the BG1EE at this low price.^^ If I buy and play it, then I bought BG1 vanilla for no reason :(

I heared the BG1 EE is missing an original intro and the new quests and character does not really fit into the game. Is it right?

I see now that the 85 % discount is for owners of the original games and after 29. april the original games and the EEs will be combined into a definite edition.

After so many years it is a joke that it is still not added.

Hi,

I'm running on mac, and have issues with the DLC installer. It fails so I can't get to play it....Have anyone else experienced the same?

I get an error message during install, tried to do it several times + reboot etc.
Does Dragonspear only work with BG1 EE? I do not own any of the enhanced editions, but own both of the originals. $2.99 is very tempting for the enhanced editions, but I am more tempted to get BG2EE than BG1EE, since I have not played BG2, but am almost finished with BG1.

Yes, it works only with BG1 EE, it's an DLC for that version of game. You'll have to own BG1:EE. It's somehow very different game from original one.

I even own Steam version of EE and still owned both of the versions during this sell off, just to have them DRM free for easier modding. It's your choise of course, it costs money after all.

I read a thread about this problem. if you create a Baldur's Gate folder inside Documents it should work.
Was ever something said that this addon will be translated and even voiced in different languages?
low rated

Yes, BG1:EE is missing the original intro, and most of the cut scenes (if not all) have been replaced, same with some original artwork. In my opinion all these changes are for the worst. Especially, the new intro sucks... I also found new quest/characters are being force on you and stand out negatively.

Edit: I have just rewatched the intro of BG1:EE. It is even worse than I remembered..

phaolo: Is it true that the EE also miss the original FMV cutscene sequences? O_o

Thanks, even if having to restore good original content in a Definitive Edition via mods is absurd. :\

I'm really having a lot of fun with this game. I'm still fairly early on because I like to see and do everything possible, but I'm on the first area that is after you leave Baldur's Gate. Lots of quests and mini-quests to keep you busy if you're a completionist. I was going to play BG1:EE first, but decided to have a Good run-through and will do a Neutral and Evil run-through of the whole trilogy afterwards. I'm very impressed so far by the quality and amazed how many lines are voiced compared to the originals. The quality of the new game is better than the quality of the original Enhanced Editions.
