Hello all!
I was just wondering if anyone was wanting to try and get a multiplayer play-through going.

I have both BG1 and 2 installed and did the BGTuTu from the guide below.

Thanks,

Idk, Iv actually only beaten BGII for the first time this morning, and Im currently working on TOB. After TOB I might consider it lol.
The thing is, I kind of have no concept of how these games could be played in multiplayer, since one's singleplayer experience in either BG will consist of copious amounts of pausing and micromanagement as you attempt to get off a fireball spell without hurting most of your party. With the uncontrolled chaos of other human beings in the mix, not to mention the fairly stiff difficulty at the beginning of BG1, I wouldn't see a multiplayer playthrough ending well.

Then again, I've never heard of anyone playing this game multiplayer ever, in all the years that I've been a fan of BG, so maybe that's just me.
Simply put to do multiplayer, you'd have to build the team out of the game.

One person would need to take care of warriors while the other handled mages and such.

You know there is diff slide :)

Also playing with skype is awasome in bg :)

also people should play one person - one character it helps. Party of 4 is just right for BG1&2

I've been interested in multiplayer. Me and some friends have been getting together to play and I also have been following the guide you shared. Let me know if you're still interested. I can be reached on skype: keldwud or keldwud@gmail.com

After playing my first non-local network multiplayer session of Baldur's gate (not using tutu), I found that GameRanger was the only solution with which we had any amount of success.

When trying to start a game through GameRanger, make sure to start Tales of the Sword Coast. Baldur's gate won't load the game on the non-host machines but TSC will.

my username on GameRanger is also keldwud.

I'm also thinking I might need to publish a newb guide for multiplayer in baldur's gate because there are two main issues, the fullscreen bug that crashes the game when starting a multi-player game but not when in windowed mode (which is covered in several posts but not always completely answered) and the countless posts on people not being able to start a multiplayer game across a non-local network.

I could join up with you. I play either a Fighter or Mage, prefer Fighters(less thought, more swinging)
Yes, I am still interested. So it looks like gameranger is the way to go to do multiplayer? I havent used it but I will get it soon. My name on gameranger is gubo.
Skype is erik.cumby@yahoo.com

I am on EST and can generally play from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Since a couple of people have expressed interest we need to figure out who will host. Preferably someone who knows how and has done it before, if not we will figure it out. If we are going to talk online I think skype or vent would be the choices.

Players .......... Time Zone................ Time available................ Prefered Class
Gubo .................. EST................. 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM ............. undecided

Landeril ................ ..................................... .......................... Fighter or mage

Once we get our players or whatever, we need to figure out if we are playing TuTu BGT or just the regular games. Then what mods/addons the majority of the players can agree on.

I'd prefer to go after rartino's guide of BGTuTu, since this would be my first play through in a very long time.

I agree with recommendation for the newbie guide to modding. That's the one with canon type stuff only, right?

I guess I better get to work on installing tutu. I've been sitting on it for a few weeks now.
I will play with you guys if you use TuTu. If we were to play id be a fighter/thief. My time zone is MST
