Now, I've installed this game I-don't-know how many times, both the gog file and from the cds/dvds. Usually any problems are a quick fix, but this time I can't figure it out. After a clean install of Mint and the gog version of BG1, it will blink out after starting, setting my resolution to 640x480 at the desktop. There's no error message, and it will not start again until reboot - then it does it again. There's still a black square in the upper-left of my desktop that seems to match the 640 resolution, but that'll go away on a reboot.

Edit: Apparently it's only the desktop icon that does that, the start menu ones work fine. Creating another shortcut from there didn't work.
