I think that I've heard BG music so many times that there are grooves worn into my brain by it. I think I should avoid hearing it so that I can go to bed tonight without playing it over and over in my head.

Me too brother.
Every so often, I will go a few months without "hearing" the BG music. Then I'll hear it somewhere somehow, and the nostalgia will wash over me like an ocean.
The first one came out, what, 25 years ago? I'm 50yo now, and I'm pretty sure I'm taking this game to my grave.

Two other games that have taken over my brain: The first Europa Universalis (awesome music) and the Scifi 4X - Ascendancy (also awesome music). If the tune is great it tricks me into participating (humming etc.) and this just makes it live longer in me.

Yep. For me, the Tristram music in the first Diablo game does that same thing.
I wonder if Baldur's Gate is like a pet. You know, like how they say people with pets live longer? Might we too perhaps live longer because we love Baldur's Gate?
