Hey nice to know there are still wonderful posts and concerns about the good old RPG gaming;-)

I had previously only thought TSR as a whole (maybe the older souls) are the true essense of fantasy RPG gaming, as they are the one who introduce the pen and paper RPG which explore the wildest dream and fantasy of the older generation (maybe the 80s), when games like BG1 was introduce, it was like the holy grail for most loyal AD&Ders as BG 1 and 2 were the only games resemble the days of pen and paper gaming...LOL

Looking back, we can sense that these classic Black Isle games were made solely with the spirit of sharing the developers' dream with the mass audience, and not merely squeesing profit from the gamers, just look at how grand and epic of BG and PS:T...when i finish the whole game, it was like i really play a part as the characters there and those followers were really my friends, their constant voice still lingering within me..LOL

Elder scroll and Fallout3 were great in letting us explore unlimited terrain but they always lack a purpose in doing what we do and lack of souls for the person we met, i meant BG2 and PS:T create a destiny for us to pursue that made us fill with hope and play with a purpose...it require dedicated story telling and careful plots.

Somehow, i still believe the 2D environment will give a greater presentation for RPG game, as it will free up time for dealing with 3D issue...well, it seem some young generation still look back at BG and PS:T, so it may be acceptable that certain gaming revert to the basic 2D:)

I agree. The 2D environment of BG makes it easier to concentrate on the personalities, quests and battle tactics itself, as well as being much easier for the eyes. I for instance have a psychiatric disability which makes me overburned with impressions easily. It means I get tired quickly by modern games with an overload of visual stimuli. It's much easier to play BG for hours on end. With Dragon Age for instance (BG's 'spiritual successor') the tiredness of all the stimuli sets in within an hour of gaming .
