Hello guys,
I have been trying to find some information on the forums regarding multiplayer but some questions remain unanswered so I'm creating this topic. Perhaps it will be helpful for other in the future as well.

I will ask the questions first and leave some less important stuff at the end of the post.

1. Can I connect in multiplayer with people having original game from steam or whatsoever?

2. Is there some guide for GOG version on how to do so?

3. Is there anyone willing to play with me eventually? I don't really know where to look for players to team up with.
I have been playing BG series for many years coming back to them, but it was always limited to single player mode. I would like to try to play with some real people where each one of us is going to control his own character and play together that way.
Perhaps there is some thread where people are trying to find others for the game? I'm from Poland so I'm looking for fluent english or polish speaker that would like to play together on skype and have some fun with multiplayer.

Hi, Rufus90.

Here's what I've been able to find out:

1) Yes, you can connect to people playing on Steam. Also Android, Mac, iPad and any other platform the game is available on.

2) No guide that I'm aware of. However, it should be the same for all versions (I have this through GOG). Click/tap on Multiplayer to bring up the list of available public games. Click/tap Create Game to make a new public game. Click/tap Advanced to change the game type, join a private game, or change the connection protocol. You can also password protect your game session. This is just a quickie overview. If you need more, I'll see if I can write something up. =)

3) While I may not be able to play in the group due to time differences, make a new thread in this forum and ask if anyone's interested in joining your game. Post updates of your group's adventures for others to see - might attract more players that way. Maybe check out the Age of Wonders board for their Play By Email threads for some inspiration.

Hope this helps. =)

1. post the time of day you want to play and how long you are up for... be very clear about what time zone you are in!

2. everyone playing multi-player must have the same game version so for example if you want scs30 then every other player must have the same mod and the same options selected.

select multiplayer; you have 3 options; beamdog, ipt or lan... most people are better off with beamdog as the other two are aimed at private games.

if you pick ipt or lan you will need to make a (at least one) character as well as a name for the game and a name for the session... passwords are optional if you want to filter whom you get.
