I'm finally getting around to playing BG via Baldur's Gate Trilogy. Previously when I briefly started up BG2 I noticed a new character started at lv. 7, so I'm just wondering if I'd get at all close to 20 by the end of BG2. The reason I'm wondering is I made a Monk, and they only start getting all their cool stuff at pretty high levels. I'm not very far, so if I won't get up those high levels I'd rather just restart as a Kensai or a Mage.

Just checked an old save. My character, ready to start Throne of Baal, had around 3.4 million XP. FTR 17/Thief 17. Others in my party were in that vicinity as well. Korgan was level 21.
