As the title says and preferably mods that don't cause other bugs and issues.

Basically i'd like to be able to play on the Core Rules difficulty setting without having perma-death. I don't like having to "cheat" via "save and load scumming" just to avoid character perma-death like I had to with my playthrough of Baldur's Gate 1. I wouldn't mind Normal difficulty setting, but enemy damage is cut to 3/4 which I don't like.

Thanks for any answers.

Are you talking about perma-death for your character, or NPCs? If for your character, then no because there can be no story without a Bhaalspawn at the lead. If, on the other hand, you mean for your NPCs, then I'm afraid you *would* be 'cheating' by playing on Core Rules while bypassing them. You would be invalidating spells like Disintegrate, Flesh to Stone, Basilisk Gaze etc. Either you don't like cheating or you do.

I'm just not a fan of losing NPC party members permanently, it's a bit too harsh and annoying having to reload to keep them alive. Temp-death is fine with me though.

Do those spells not work if you have perma-death turned off? I thought you could cure stoning?

If you disable permanent death, then your NPCs can be revived no matter what they die from. Stoning can be cured providing they are not chunked at the same time, but it is classed as permanent death. I don't know of any mods that address this issue specifically -- there's no need when you can use the difficulty slider.

I would use the difficulty slider, but that would reduce enemy damage which is the only thing I don't like about that. Well, that and the earned XP reduction.

Thanks anyways for the answers.
