I've used mods extensively in Skyrim, but I wasn't using GOG (or even Steam) at that time. Now, with BG3, I'm trying to go through Nexus and using BG3MM, but I can't even get started. When I try to set up BG3MM, it says that my game data folder is invalid.

The only BG3 folder I can find that's actually named "data" is "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Baldurs Gate 3\Data"

I've also tried "C:\Users\*\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3"

I'm at a loss.

the first path is your game data folder and yes thats where mods want to point because it has your .pak files... althou you have the game installed to C:\Program Files (x86) which means nothing is going to work correct

the second path is where your profile i.e, multiplayer, save game and settings live

as a side note 'Nexus" assumes Steam unless stated otherwise... that means most the mods there will look in the default Steam location unless you tell it not to

each mod is different and none of the current mods for BG3 work because Bg3 changes every two-three days as Larian fucks around trying to please influencer expectations

I didn't change anything, but it's working fine tonight, so I have no idea what the problem was.

And I used Nexus mods fine for my non-Steam Skyrim.

So i don't know if this will help you because I got the game through steam. But, i recently was having issues with the BG Mod Manger and it was giving me trouble with the game path executable stuff as well. Try extracitng it to the Downlaods folder and see what happens. Instead of the actually game folder you have. That for whatever reason...solved all my problems. Its so stupid I started laughing in anger. Becasue I was trying to fix that problem for days. All the paths for the data and the bin.exe appeared perfectly etc. Maybe that will help? I hope you get this figured out!!!

I am also looking for an answer to this - I have looked at every folder under cC:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy - I can not find where BG3 is installed/running. Any input would be appreciated.

open Galaxy and select the show folder option for BG3 [see image]
