Does GoG still make you re-download the entire game every time you want to update? That's unacceptable if the game is anywhere near 150 GB.

yes, which is because Larian gives it to them that way
the 150G number is because the game needs to unpack, so if the release build ends up being 150G you will actually need more like 200G of free space to get it

I use a ramdisk for temp files and I have to temporarily increase it to 16G (half my ram!) to get the install to work.
