I just leave this here in case someone needs it.

On Steam seemingly no one needs it. At least no one cares. I hope you do not need that guide.

I know you cannot upvote the guide or whatsoever. I do not care. If it helps one person over here, it is fine for me. I am active on Steam forums in the tech subsection for BG3 if anyone has a question. You can post there without owning the game on Steam.

I can see why this guide is no longer needed nowadays. In 2023, every "gaming" laptop that sells for less than $1000 (let alone cheap "gaming" desktop that costs about say $600) can run BG3 beautifully in Full HD. And I have been running every game in 4K ever since the start of COVID-19. And I run BG3 on Ultra in 4K by default. So, naturally, nobody who is interested in "gaming" nowadays is still interested in knowing very outdated mostly obsolete tricks that were once popular years ago when a powerful gaming rig (which may or may not be able to run today's BG3) would easily cost you $3000 or more. So, just spend a little extra money that could hardly cost you more than a new iPhone, and you could get a gaming rig powerful enough to run BG3 most beautifully. So, save you time and trouble. Enjoy the game and have fun!
I'll keep this in my pocket just in case. Thank you very much.
Well, my gaming rig is just 2 years old and BG3 is a lagfest, especially since patch 1, which made things quite a bit worse.

Not that I care too much. The game looks very pretty and its turn based, so all the lag in the world doesnt make battles harder.

Btw turning down the graphics interestingly hardly helps, so I just dialed back to ultimate and went "eh, whatever".

I was getting some major lag issues in the city in Act 3, but after updating my graphics drivers, re-applying the Nvidia "game ready" settings, then turning shadow quality down 1 step, that (quite surprisingly) all seems to be gone.

I'm surprised I had any lag at all.. 3070TI, 32Gb RAM, 10 core i7, m2 drives... I'm not on the best equipment, but it's pretty good for a consumer machine. Certain parts of the city were down to what seemed like 2 FPS at times, but that all seems to be solved now.
