Hi Everyone!

I've bought the game from GoG since it's my preferred way to get games, but I cannot make it work on steam deck.
I've downloaded the game, I've installed the exe for .net, added the --skip-launcher param, even tried with bg_dx11 instead of vulkan, but nothing. Screens flicker black and goes back to heroic launcher.

Any ideas on how to make this work with steam deck? I would really appreciate it!

Since you are on Steam Deck you might be best adding the bg3.exe to Steam as a non-steam game. Then enabling compatibility on that game so it uses proton.

It is verified. But I don't know that it runs amazing currently according to this:

I've tried this too, but it just won't open sadly. Most I could get is a quick black screen and not much else before crashing to desktop.

It works fine on my Deck. I have Selected the Vulkan exe (i.e. bin/bg3.exe) bypassing their horrible launcher and selected Proton 8.0-3 as compatibility layer. On medium settings it runs fine from the memory card but only less than 2hrs before the battery is too low.

I have run the installer on Windows though and transferred the installed files via rsync.

Hope that helps.

Thanks! This worked!
One question, do you know any way to get my pc save file to my deck so I can continue my adventure?

In the users folder for windows: AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldurs Gate 3

You would copy that to the equivalent location that steam has for the wine prefix.
