Before I describe the problem, could I ask the guys who have been telling us we are idiots for using the offline installers to keep it out of this thread please? We've heard it over and over the last week, now. Seriously. Thanks.

So I spent almost 2 days downloading setup_baldurs_gate_3_release_-_v4.1.1.3624901_-_patch_v1_(64bit)_(66548) (also the two patches to apply to it) and when I try to run it, I get the following error message: "The source file is corrupted.

You should run the installer's integrity check to verify which files need to be re-downloaded."

And then it quits.

Now in the past when I had one of the files missing or bad, the installer would tell me what I was missing or what was corrupted. I think it's taunting me by telling me to run the installer to do a verify when it's the installer that refuses to do anything for me. Is there a parameter I need to pass the exe to request a verify? Does anyone have any suggestions short of downloading the whole darn thing over again?

1st question = is this a fresh install and no other EA build [Galaxy or offline] because Larian has made lots of file location changes

2nd question = did you try right click the patch exe and run as admin? [see image]

1) I even used the method they suggested of using the EA version LOAD to delete each campaign first (though I suspect this was intended more for people who use galaxy and keep multiple copies of the saves synced). After that I launched the uninst exe in the game directory (running as admin, to save another round of QA).

2) I did run as admin exactly as you demonstrated.

Closed issue for now!!! Thanks for your help.

What happened: I was fooling around with it and re-verifying that I had all the files and they were named correctly, and I noticed that the first bin file was slightly smaller than the others (except for the last bin). I wondered if it was messed up so I deleted it and went to download it again and then... That release is gone from GOG and replaced with the current (till today's 2.1 patch, I guess) v4.1.1.3630146. So now I'm just missing the entire first bin because I deleted it.

So I deleted the whole mess including the patch to go to v4.1.1.3630146 that I was planning to use. And now I'm downloading it again which will take a bit less than 2 days. Anyway, thanks again.

The very first file of the bunch of installation files is usally smaller as it is pretty much the installer and no game data.
In BG3 it is 2MB at my file list.

The other files are around 4GB unless it is the last installation file which varies according to how much data is left to install.

Two whole days sound really awful - you have my sympathy!

As I said, the first *bin* file was smaller. And yeah, best I can get is 1Mbps.
