Hello All,
I purchased Baldur's gate 3 two months ago and just now am getting around to playing. I noticed there are numerous patches included with the download. DO I have to install patch numbers 4 thru eight when I play or is the game up to date? Thank you
The game is in Early Access, so you're going to see a constant, steady stream of patches coming out. The patches add new content. Hotfixes fix major bugs that could be game-breaking.

I think the latest version is Patch 8 Hotfix 6, though there's a new Panel from Hell slated for Dec 14, and we can reasonably expect another patch then, with new content. I expect they're adding Paladin as a playable class, but they sometimes add other things as well, like new areas or quality of life upgrades in gameplay or UI.

My recommendation is that you install all of the available patches before you play. Depending on how you install, it might actually be easier to just uninstall what you have, and re-download the entire game; some of the earlier patches did that anyway. If you install using the GOG galaxy client, or download the backup installers from the GOG panel, you'll get the latest version with all the patches, and won't need to individually patch anything.
